Age Concern New Forest

The New Forest Advice Network has funded a new post at Age Concern New Forest which is really making a difference to the lives of elderly residents in the New Forest.

Jane Archer is the dedicated Information and Advice worker . She makes appointments for clients to visit the Age Concern office in Dibden Purlieu as well as making home visits to those clients unable to visit the office. She has a kind and empathetic approach to those she deals with, which encourages those who would not always feel they should apply for benefits, to do so. She has made a huge difference to a great number of local older people. Between April - December 2014 there was over a 60% increase in clients to the Information and Advice Service. Previously unclaimed benefits secured for her clients ammounted to £2,987 per week ....which equates to over £155,000 per year!

The organisation has really seen the benefit of Janes work.

Jean Adams the Chief Exec of Age Concern New Forest says, '' No one can deny this is an amazing achievement and Jane should be commended for her dedication, professionalism and sheer hard work. Jean continues ,''We are keen to see this service continue after the ASTF funding runs out. We have recently opened a third shop in Holbury to help us secure ongoing funding for this invaluable service.''
